Electroencephalography Laboratory (EEG)

The head of the Laboratory is Ewa Pęczak, MD.

The laboratory was established at the Department of Neurology, at the initiativeof its first Head of the Department, B. Pająk, MD, and it has been working from the date of opening of the hospital, performing  tests for the patients of the hospital departments and neurological clinic.

EEG examination is a non-invasive diagnostic method used to study the brain’s bioelectrical activity using electroencephalograms.

Currently our laboratory has the latest medical equipment, a Video-EEG apparatus by GRASS-TELEFACTOR allowing one-step recording  of bioelectrical activity of the brain and the patient’s clinical status. Each of the tests is extended to the ECG and pulse oximeter.

The laboratory performs approximately 400 tests a year and helps in diagnosing epilepsy, loss of consciousness, disturbances of consciousness, and in tracing the dynamics of the adult patient treatment process.
